Welcome to St. Lambert United Church!
|
We are a United Church that serves a wide area of the South Shore of Montreal. Most people’s first experience of St. Lambert United is Sunday morning worship. You are welcome to join us on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. Entrance is through the main entry at 85 Desaulniers Blvd, and wheel-chair access is by the last entrance off Mercille. See our map to find your way. (Parking is on the street).
Worship is a mix of traditional and less traditional elements. Music is led by organ and piano, and homilies (sermons) range from traditional formats to other forms of presentation.
St. Lambert United is happy to offer you the Children and Youth program, with a nursery for the youngest and Sunday School classes for those who are 3-10 years of age. This is a priority for our congregation, with our paid staff co-ordinating dedicated volunteers.
After worship, wander out to the hall for conversation, alongside your coffee, tea and lemonade.
If you want to find out more about the congregation, continue to explore our website to discover a busy and dynamic congregation. Or come by on Sunday morning! |

Homily: December 4, 2011 (Advent 2) - For what are we getting ready?.
So - what’s on your to-do list?
I got a to-do list from a Canadian magazine. The heading says “Getting organized for the holiday season has never been easier. Fill out your very own checklist with expected tasks and deadlines, and you’ll be ready for the holidays in no time.”
And it is all organized:
“Baking” is the first heading. And below is space to list the things you will need to buy, and a space to set the date for baking all your stuff.
After that: “Wrapping” - a check-list of things to have, and a space for your deadline date.
And so it goes. “Cleaning” - and a list of all the rooms.
Homily: November 27, 2011 (Advent 1) - Don't just do something....
Are you ready?
28 shopping days left after today.
Don’t forget great-aunt so and so....
Oh, and the cards being sent out of the country - two more days to send them if they’re going to Europe or Asia or the Carribean, and if you have friends in Africa - well, you’re already 5 days late mailing those cards.
Are you ready??
This is the season to be rushing.....
But wait a minute.
Just wait a minute.
This is a season of preparation.
That’s what is made clear in the scriptures.
But it is not meant to be a season of crazy rushing around for the next four weeks.
